Students can work independently or with others during independent learning time. If working with others, and not assigned to a small group for instruction, students may choose their learning partner.

Every Friday, students participate in hour-long enrichment academies that are multi-age/grade. The goal is to give all kids access to deep, interdisciplinary project-based learning.
Pleasant View students participate in weekly, multi-age enrichment academies.
Pleasant View Elementary students participate in multi-age, project-based enrichment classes every Friday.
Students have one-on-one weekly meetings with their mentor teachers to articulate long and short term goals, and measure progress in meeting those goals.
When students feel they have mastered content, they request an assessment. PVES teachers developed a way to have students request without interrupting other one-on-one sessions.
This strategy encourages students to collaborate by designating leaders in the classroom with green lanyards.
Driven by the previous day’s formative assessments, students participate in blended learning stations in different parts of the classroom that feature student choice about the learning modality for that part of the day.

The Workshop Board is the student-facing display of available stations and work. Depending on how much choice students are given on a specific day, the structure of the Workshop Board changes.
